Peanut's face

Another profile shot, what a cute nose!

Another face to face

And here is Peanut just 10 weeks ago, how this baby has grown!

Wednesday we returned to Dr. Arbona for another check up and ultrasound. As you can see we got some fantastic pictures of our baby. I did ask the ultrasound technician if we wanted to find out the sex of Peanut if we would be able to and she said yes; however, we did not find out and there will still be no sealed envelopes for any family... sorry!
I continue to measure four weeks larger (24 weeks) than I should be. Dr. Arbona reassured me that this may be for two reasons, either my uterus is tilted to make it seem I am measuring larger or Peanut is constantly stretched out and pushing on my uterus to make it larger. The size of our baby and the amount of amniotic fluid present were concerns prior to this ultrasound but the pictures were all very reassuring. Peanut currently weighs 11 ounces, falling into the 50th percentile for weight and femur, abdominal, and head measurements. The best size comparison right now to our baby is to imagine the weight and size of a can of Coke. While the due date is still September 16, according to this ultrasound it is the 13th.
Dr. Arbona said that everything looks perfect right now and they were able to get great pictures of a three vessel umbilical cord, the baby's spine, head, arms and legs, and heart chambers. Peanut's heart rate was a strong 148.
We return in four more weeks for another check up and glucose tolerance test... yea! We'll continue to update and post pictures of my growing belly for next week!
