One of Ryan's favorite things to tell Bria is that she sleeps like a champ and poops like a champ... don't worry, we won't post pictures of the poop! Bria has taken to occassionally "blowing out" diapers, usually when I am holding her. The joys of motherhood!
Yesterday we went to the doctor for her one month check-up. Bria is now 8 pounds 10.5 ounces and 21.25 inches long. Her weight and head circumference are in the 25th percentile and length is in the 50th percentile. It looks like she may take after Ryan and grow to be tall and thin! Since her umbilical cord has fallen off the pediatric nurse practitioner, Timberlee, noticed that she has a small umbilical hernia. Thankfully, hers is extremely small and most umbilical hernias infants have close independently by nine months. Timberlee felt with the size of Bria's that it may close even sooner. For now we'll continue to watch it to make sure she does not develop any complications. Everything else checked out great and we will return at two months for the first round of vaccinations and a Denver developmental screen.
Saturday Ryan and I took Bria to a local apple orchard to pick apples. We put Bria in her Baby Bjorn and she slept the entire time! After putting her into the carrier we noticed for the first time that there are multiple sets of button holes to adjust how close her head is to my or Ryan's chest. When using it previously, we kept saying it would be great if her head did not flop around in it so much... not the first of many mistakes we have made or will make I am sure! It was a fun outing for us, and I have begun to appreciate the weekends even more as Ryan can be home. Not only are another pair of hands helpful, but we truly enjoy being together as a family.
So awake!

Growing fast!

Bria is finally partially out of newborn clothing and has started to wear some 0-3 month outfits. She'll have a much larger wardrobe once she is fully into the 0-3 month size!
This weekend will hold a flurry of activity as Bria will be attending her very first Pumpkin Show. My mom will be coming up as I am in a wedding on Saturday and will be here to help take care of Bria since Ryan has work obligations. Keep checking back to watch Bria grow with us and for pictures of our adventures this weekend!
